Rack Labels

Rack labels are typically produced with a linear layout and barcode configuration.  Alphanumeric reference combinations are generated by our customer’s warehouse management system (WMS) software, or by ASG Services technical team.  Using accurate rack drawings, our teams are able to create numbering systems which can later be uploaded to WMS packages.

ASG Services often work closely with WMS developers and designers as well as rack manufacturers and systems integrators to gather specific information on behalf of the customer.  This helps avoid communication errors and delays, plus our customers run huge facilities and often do not have time to deal with these issues.

Linear bar code labels are the most popular rack labels ASG Services produce, more recently we have seen an increase in the number of two dimensional bar code labels requested.  Two dimension bar codes offer a greater level of information to be stored, while also changing the layout design, however we remind customers that space is limited on rack and shelf edges.  The smaller the linear or 2 dimensional bar code is, the closer the operator must be to scan it.

Several material types help ASG to achieve different grades of rack label performance.  Low cost materials are often less durable and less stable.  The benefit of keeping costs low can quickly be lost when rack labels are damaged.  We appreciate the importance of budget restraints and pledge to work with our customers to achieve the best possible regardless.
